US - The US based Swine Health Information Center has allocated over $3 million in 2016 to help the US pork industry become better prepared to respond to emerging disease threats, writes Bruce Cochrane.In response to the devastation caused to the US swine herd by Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea, the Swine Health Information Center was established in July 2015.Swine Health Information Center Executive Director Dr. Paul Sundberg says the Board of Directors has committed 1.6 million dollars in 2016 for research and 1.7 million dollars for program and support projects focusing on disease preparedness, response, analysis and monitoring.
